Illustrator and children's book author Eymard Toledo reads from her book Juju und Jojô. Afterwards there will be a colorful collage workshop.
The twin girls Juju and Jojô live in a very, very big city. In order to see the sky, you have to put your head back. Previously, their neighbor says, her house was the highest in the quarter. The two girls cannot imagine that, because today it's the smallest in the street, and they know nothing but the life in the densely built-up city. But a tree grows in front of her house. The father planted it, when the girls were little. It is a jabutica tree - a so-called tree trunk cherry. The tree has already reached the height of their balcony. He doesn't just give sweet fruit, many insects also live in it, all sorts of ants crawl up on it, and the crickets chirp on the branches. At first, Jojô cannot understand Juju's fascination with these insects.
Eymard Toledo was born 1963 in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, .. Then, 25 Years ago she packed her backpack and traveled to Europe. Today she lives in Mainz and is the mother of two almost grown-up boys.
